The conference takes place on the campus of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Clear Water Bay in the east of the city. The Global Research Forum on Sustainable Production and Consumption and HKUST is partnering with The Crowne Plaza Kowloon East and Holiday Inn Express Kowloon East who provided a conference rate for conference participants until 24 May - please check with the Hotels for current prices.

1. Kadoorie Farm and Green Hub - bus has departed!
Details: Depart Crowne Plaza Kowloon East: 9am; Return 2pm
Cost: 350HKD – payable in cash or via credit card (form to be provided)
Includes: Coach to/from Kadoorie Farm, lunch, and tour of Kadoorie Farm and Green Hub
*Due to transportation requirements at Kadoorie Farm, spots are limited to 22 participants. If there is sufficient demand, we can set up a second coach.
Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) spreads over 148 hectares of land on the northern slopes of Tai Mo Shan, Hong Kong's highest mountain, near the town of Tai Po. KFBG has a deep-set valley between two ridges, with a stream running steeply down through the forest. On the slopes there are forest, theme gardens, vegetable terraces, 8km of walking trails, 9km of roads, and conservation and educational facilities.The Farm was established in 1956 to provide agricultural aid to farmers in need of support to help them lead independent lives; and to provide leisure and educational experience for the public. The theme gardens were designed and planted from the 1960's onwards, and through planting, natural process and protection from fire, what was once barren scrubland is now mature forest. Visitors are welcome.

2. Here, There, Everywhere – A pop-up Exhibit at the WMA - Postponed
This exhibit features work by our Saturday keynote speakers, TRES Art Collective. This is a fabulous chance to see their work, and experience its materiality. The venue is downtown on Hong Kong Island, so for those who want more of a ‘city’ experience, this gives you a chance to experience HK’s fabulous subway, and the hustle and bustle of the business and financial hub of the city. Participants travels together from the hotel on public transport, and no lunch will be provided (but there are many options nearby).

Location: Central, Wing Wo St, 23-29號, Chun Wo Commercial Centre, 8/F
Cost: Approximately 30HKD for subway fare; participants will travel together by subway but pay their own travel costs

Those who are interested in going to the nearby fishing ‘village’ of Sai Kung, which is renowned for its seafood restaurants on the waterfront (along with a number of pubs serving locally brewed beer, Chinese and Western restaurants, winding alleys and interesting local shops), please indicate your interest by signing up here.
We will help organize taxis (usually about 15 minutes, ~80hkd per taxi) to the Sai Kung pier, and can also make group bookings at one of the Chinese seafood restaurants if there is interest (participants will be responsible for costs).
